So... I've been away for a while and I know you all are pining away wondering if I've died, right? No, you say? Oh, well atleast it's nice to THINK I am blog stalked :) Just kidding. We've actually been super busy over the past 2 weeks, and then I caught a head cold and a stomach bug so I just haven't had much time for blogging lately. So, to catch up:
Later that evening we went to a Mexican restaurant with our friends Jason and Susan. Brayden had his first taste of lemon and it was HILARIOUS!
He actually liked it and wanted more, but whenever I would put it in his mouth he'd make this awful face. Good times.
We drove down to Baton Rouge last Tuesday to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family.
The drive down was not near as bad as we thought it would be, and only took us an extra hour. It was the first time my whole family had been together since this past July. As a special treat, my grandmother and my uncle (my dad's brother), my other uncle (my mom's brother) and his family, and my sister's boyfriend were all able to celebrate Thanksgiving together, and ofcourse, our Uncle Mike. It was the first time B had met Uncle Mike, and he didn't know what to think:
We played lots of games, flew kites, laughed & hung out all week.
Dad was able to get some tickets to the LSU v. Arkansas football game. It was my first time back in Death Valley, this time as a fan of the visitors. My previous experience was when I was 8 as an LSU fan. They were playing the Texas A&M Aggies. I don't remember a whole lot, other than a very large fat woman throwing hot dog wrappers at me b/c she didn't like that I was standing up (did I mention I was 8?!?!). I had heard horror stories of visitors being peed on, taunted, punched, etc. when visiting Death Valley, so was pretty nervous. All in all though, the LSU fans were mild all things considered. We were taunted by a 3 year old yelling Tiger Bait at us, and a drunk guy came up to us blabbering nonsense and then something about spiking the ball (apparently a reference to the Ole Miss game that they had lost the week prior). Everyone else was very nice. It was an AMAZING game, and I was so glad we were able to go. The Hogs trailed most of the game before pulling ahead in the final minute. We then lost in the first overtime to none other than a missed field goal. Sigh. I will be glad when we get a reliable kicker on our team.
They had this beautiful tree decorated with LSU colors right in front of Memorial Tower. Even though it was LSU colors, I couldn't resist a picture!
My sister Laura took some family pictures of us in my parents backyard. Here are a few of my faves:

"Who is this guy?"
"OK, I guess I like you!"

B getting some lovin' from my parents dog, Cody
We improvised on bath time since he now tries to turn over when you lay him down on a towel in the tub.
All tuckered out with Aunt Meggie
The dogs LOVED laying on the pallet we had made for B in the living room. Megan got some snuggle time with them one night :)
Only 7 months old and already trying to read the paper.
We've always put up a tree the day after Thanksgiving, and this year was no exception!
"My family has gone bonkers! Why are they putting a tree in the HOUSE?!?!"
B Man playing with his Gigi. He LOVES his Gigi!

Dad REALLY wanted Memorial Tower in the picture, so Drew improvised and layed on the ground to take this one!
Meg and Ben :o)
Drew and Me before kickoff. The sunset was amazing, but unfortunately this picture doesn't really show it that well.
Towards the end of the game, it got pretty chilly, so mom and I bundled up. BRRRR!

The drive back was pretty long. B man had just had enough of cars, and let us know about it. At one point I looked at Drew and swore I was able to gouge my eyes out. At that point B had been screaming for close to 45 minutes. It took us over 12 hours to get home... needless to say, we're all a bit exhausted. I took SO many pictures at Thanksgiving, and the task of editing them all in photoshop was too daunting for me. So sadly, most of the pictures I've posted are SOOC (straight out of the camera for you none photogs). I also took senior pics of my brother during the trip, but those WILL be edited, and I plan on posting some of my faves from that shoot once I get to it. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to reflect on what God has blessed you with over this past year. Let the Christmas carols, sleighbells and holly jolly festivities begin! :)
