5 Months Old... What the What????

I woke up this morning and said "what?!" 5 months. How in the world is that even possible. Seriously, someone put a brake on the warp time machine. This baby is growing up WAY too fast for this momma.

Every little squeal, coo, raspberry blow... I just want to bottle him up and save this moment forever. If there is one thing Connor has taught me, it's to relish in the moments. I have a bit of regret that I tried to speed up the infant stages with Brayden, not truly realizing the little blessings I was missing on the way. So this second go round I've been less stressed about naps (don't get me wrong, we still have a schedule, albeit a very flexible one) milestones and markers as I have been about just enjoying the little rolly polly person I get to call son. He truly is precious, don't you think? Of course, I know I am biased, but I could just squeeze him to death.

So Connor, what are you up to at 5 months?
  • You're officially in size 3 diapers, day and night. I made you finish out the size 2's that we had, even though they were way too small on you :)
  • You wear 3-6 month pjs, and then 6-9 month clothes for everything else. I have to roll up your pants though, because your legs are a little short :)
  • You are really becoming vocal about things. Here I was thinking you were going to be my laid back, momma's boy baby. I guess Brayden's been teaching you a thing or two about independence and you like it.
  • Just today you recognized your Gigi on Skype and lit up when she talked to you. You love when people pay attention to you, and will just sit there and smile.
  • You roll from back to tummy and tummy to back now. I've not actually seen you roll from back to tummy, but I know you can do it because I've walked in the room and you're laying completely opposite how I had laid you! Sneaky little booger!
  • We tried rice cereal for the first time this week. I wouldn't say you hated it, but it's not a first love either. You tend to not really get excited about food though, only considering it a necessity to keep on smiling. Such an opposite from your older brother, who is already eating us out of house and home.
  • You're really starting to giggle at things, which I love. You're particularly goofy giggling before bed when we're changing you into your pjs. Must be something about being naked. haha!
  • I would say that you're pretty much weaned off your reflux meds. I can tell sometimes that you could use an extra dose, but for the most part, I don't give them to you regularly anymore. Now if only you'd quit spitting up so much :)
  • You're really into staring at your hands, and can pretty much grasp anything in sight now.
  • You try to hold your toes now, which I think is adorably cute!
  • Sometimes when you are laying on your tummy you try to pull your knees up under you-- I am NOT ready for that, so please quit practicing! ha!
Connor- you truly are a JOY to our family and a blessing in our lives. I love watching you grow up, although it definitely is bitter sweet seeing my baby losing less of the baby each and every day. Thank you for always making me smile-- I love you so much son!

PS-- I know yall will think this is funny... today when I was taking these pics, Brayden was SO upset that he wasn't in the pics. So after staving him off while I tried to get Connor to smile, I let him jump in on the shoot. I think I may have created a photo monster you guys...
