Friday Drew's day drove in to town. He was leaving on Saturday to go on a trip, so he came to visit us before he left. We decided that despite the excruciating temperatures that we'd brave First Friday on the Bentonville square.

The boys actually did great, especially Brayden, who thrives in social interaction. They always have a live band, and Brayden is in LOVE with live music. Seriously the minute it starts playing he breaks it down like nobody's business. It's hilarious.

This month they had clowns, which kept Brayden seriously entertained for about 30 minutes.
waiting for his balloon sword
He sat patiently and watched them, and then received a balloon sword. Thankfully the sword was free, because it only took 10 minutes for Brayden to pop it :) We all got hungry around 6, so we left and went to Sam's for dinner and a quick shopping trip.
Saturday morning Drew and his dad took Brayden to the pool. Ron wanted to see Brayden swimming, and from what hear Brayden put on quite a show. I stayed home with Connor so he could nap. It also gave me a bit of a breather :) After the boys nap on Saturday afternoon, we headed back to the pool with our friend's the Coleman's. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately, but we all had a great time. I wish I had had a camera to video tape Brayden when he saw Jack there at the pool. He literally swam as fast as he could to the ladder, climbed out, RAN to Jack, hugged him, and then yelled "WOOK JACK!" and ran and jumped back in the pool. SO sweet and SO funny that Brayden! After swimming we went to the local New Balance store since they were having a really good sale on shoes and it was a tax-free day today in Arkansas. Brayden now wears a size 9.5 shoe, and the bigger shoes we went ahead and purchased for him were a size 11.5-- a KIDS sized shoe.
presh little feet!
It made me a little sad realizing that I am now buying KIDS stuff for my little boy. It seriously seems like yesterday that he was learning how to walk-- how is this even possible??? After shoe shopping we met back up with the Coleman's for dinner at Chick-Fil-A.
enjoying his icedream :)
It was fun, but Brayden ended the evening on a sour note as we were walking out of the restaurant. He was not happy about leaving and decided to scream as loud as he could... literally everyone that was there (and it was at 7pm so it was pretty busy) turned and looked at us. Drew waved at everyone as we walked out of the door. I just laughed. I mean, really, you have to right?! Parenting is such a humbling experience.
We went to Walgreens before church this morning. They were running an awesome deal on Huggies wipes and I wanted to be sure I got some (the Walgreens stock is ALWAYS low so you have to go right when the store opens or you're likely to miss your deals!) I was SO happy to only spend $5.50 and save $22.50 with coupons. Gotta love good coupon deals! I got 2 boxes of crayons and 4 bags of 216 count wipes.
Today was our week to serve in the nursery. Drew got sucked into the toddler area, which left me and one other adult for a majority of the time in our normal classroom. With 9 babies. At one point I said "Karen, we have 9 babies!" And she said "I don't really want to think about it right now." haha! We made it through alive, and enjoyed an awesome sermon.
This afternoon we just hung around the house escaping the heat. Drew had to go into the attic for a few things, and Brayden was SO excited about the headlight that Drew wore, and wanted to try it out for himself.
and if you follow me on twitter then you might have read that someone hit another someone with a toy guitar. Yeah, that would be Brayden hitting Connor. Poor guy has his life threatened every minute of the day and just keeps on grinning.
We played in the backyard for a little bit after dinner tonight (sidenote: I served lasagna tonight that had shredded zucchini and squash in it. Brayden ate ALL of it and you couldn't even taste it! I HIGHLY recommend doing this if you have a picky vegetable eater at your house!). Anyways, we put the cute baby in the yard to play. And he loved it... can you tell?!
(he can get on all fours from sitting, but he's still not crawling.... YET).
I personally am looking forward to the first rain storms we've had in WEEKS here tomorrow, which are also ushering in a cold front-- our temps will FINALLY go back to normal, which is in the low 90s. Woo hoo! Hope everyone has a happy week!
