6 Months Old.

IMG_2283

My Sweet Little Connor,

If there were ever a way to freeze time, I would do it. I said it with your brother, and I will say it with you-- 6 months is by far my favorite stage in infancy and toddlerhood. You are learning so quickly, your personality shines through everything you do, and sleeping FINALLY becomes somewhat easy for all of us again.  Here is what you are up to at 6 months old:
  • As of May 9th, you weigh 18 pounds 10 ounces, which is 75th percentile. I can't remember your exact height, but it's 50th percentile. Your brains are 75th percentile too. You are my chunker wonker, and I love it!
  • You are finally on a 4 hour schedule, with 4 liquid meals a day, and 3 solid meals a day. Your solid meals line up with the fam, and your liquid meals line up with waking up at morning, after your first nap, after your second nap and then right before bed.
  • Speaking of liquid meals, we are weaning you from breast feeding. Right now you get 2 bottles a day, and nurse twice a day. You go between both methods splendidly.
  • We've also dropped the dream feed completely-- yay! You sleep from 7:30pm, to about 7-7:30am. Sometimes you wake up early (around 5am) and talk to yourself, but will eventually fall back asleep. Brayden did this too at this age, so I am not worried about weird sleep habits- yet :)
  • You still wear size 3 diapers, although I am thinking I may need to bump up to size 4's soon at night.
  • You pretty much wear 9-12 month clothes. Some of the shorts you are wearing were ones Brayden wore at the beginning of last summer. You wear about a size 2 shoe.
  • You have really come to LOVE your daddy, which makes me smile. When Daddy gets home from work, the first thing you do when you see him is squeal really loud. Then you kick your legs until he comes to get you from me. I can't say I don't blame you-- he's a pretty awesome guy!
  • You're still apprehensive about Brayden, and will sometimes whine about him being around  you. I think you've learned that some of your biggest owies come from brother :) He does know how to make you laugh though, and the sound of the two of yall laughing together makes my heart so full.
  • Your favorite food so far is pears. You will gobble those up so quickly! I think your least favorite is mango. You prefer the food I make over the stuff I buy from the store. Typically you'll eat about 2 cubes of food mixed with a bit of cereal (you've tried rice and oatmeal and really don't show a preference towards one or the other).
  • You smile ALL. THE. TIME. Seriously, I think I have only heard you really mad crying about twice in your 6 months. Which is nice, and I am so grateful for your sweet disposition.
  • Your favorite thing to do is bounce in the jumperoo. It's actually a joke at church that you get your exercise in and then want your bottle, then exercise some more and then pass out on one of the workers. Jumping makes you happy!
  • You roll from back to tummy, tummy to back, and are starting to learn how to scoot around in a circle on your tummy. You even try to get your knees up under yourself, which scares me to death-- I am not ready for two kids on the move!

Connor, you complete our family and bring joy to each one of us in our home. Sometimes I look at you and feel as though my heart may explode, and I wonder what I would ever do without you in our lives. You are my constant reminder that God's plans are far greater than our own. I love you so much and am so grateful to call you my son! Happy 6 month birthday baby boy :)
