Life, PICA and Pictures

Well, life has officially hit summer speed-- which is about as slow as a turtle. Only it's not. We still have parties, showers and our regular things we do (church, playdates, etc). I find myself slacking on blogging, and I will try my best to chronicle life as best as possible, so hang with me!

I am SUPER grateful to have the hubs back as of last night. Drew had been gone since Tuesday, and I have to say, single parenting is not for the faint of heart (well, parenting in general is not, but for sure single parenting! I have a new appreciation). I found myself utterly exhausted, yet not sleeping well. I sometimes find that distance is good for me-- it makes me realize the every day things I take for granted. Drew completes me and our family in so many ways, and when he's missing things just don't go as smoothly as they should. The boys have yet to spend time with daddy (they were both in bed last night when he got back), so I am sure tonight will be loads of fun :)

I felt bad for not doing anything super fun this weekend other than the pool (well, we did venture to Chick-Fil-A which is always a hit), so last night i let the boys wear their birthday suits outside for a bit before bathtime. Of course, fat little naked babiers kind of make me want to squeal because they are SO stinkin' cute, so I decided to bring out the macro lens. I am falling in love with this lens, and kind of kicking myself it's taken this long to utilize it. It makes me SUPER excited for my eventual upgrade of camera equipment, which will be happening later this fall.

I frequently get comments about how easy going Connor is... and I just respond that God answered my prayers. He truly has so much joy, and constantly reminds me to just smile about life! Love that God gives us little people to remind us of Him.

the blue eyes make his momma swoon :)

Today Brayden went to the medical clinic for lab work. It's been 5 weeks since he was diagnosed with PICA. The iron supplements have worked WONDERS-- he's brought up stuff to Drew and I and said "Yuddy Momma/Daddy" and handed it to us. Before he was just plain eating it, with no regard to how things might taste. I'm so grateful for an "easy" fix. We're hopeful that if the labs come back normal that he'll be on the iron for the rest of the summer and then resume life back to normal again. The drops are causing his teeth to discolor again, so he'll be going back to the dentist for another cleaning once we're completely finished with the supplementation. Brayden was SO brave during the blood draw, and walked out a happy camper with a new bouncy ball. We celebrated his bravery by swimming with his friends Paige, Avery, Alyssa and Justin.

This week's supposed to be pretty hot, so we're planning on being at the pool a lot. Hope everyone has a great week!
