One Year Old.

I may or may not be a blubbering mess thinking about how fast a this past year has come and gone. In many respects, this has probably been the most challenging year of my life. Not just because of a second child, although that did put one more iron in the fire that I'm still not sure I was quite prepared for. But sometimes in life although we don't feel ready for the journey God throws us on, it ends up being the BEST ride for us. And that's exactly how I would say that this year has been. Connor has been the best surprise of my life. Having two boys close in age will be rewarding as they continue to grow... I already see sprouts of an awesome bond forming between B & C, and it warms my heart. Connor has been the PERFECT addition to our family. He's laid back, but not so laid back that he allows people to run over him (and by people, I mean a certain someone who's 19 months older than him). He's quiet, but not so quiet that we can't hear him (or his opinion, which he knows to speak loudly if need be). He's strong-willed, but in a quiet way. I've come to accept the fact that two strong willed people just  don't have it in the cards to produce a non-strong-willed child. I'm now betting on my hopes that the strong wills will turn into a good thing someday. As a friend once told me, "the strengths of lawyers and doctors suck in toddlers." Amen? Amen. Connor is just precious, and I am so proud of him and all he brings to our family.

Look how much he's changed over the past 12 months.

yall, I think he looks SO much like his daddy. If he had bright red hair and a bowl cut, pretty sure he'd be spittin' image.

Connor Andrew, you are the apple of your momma's eye. I love you more today than the day you were born. You were, and are, the perfect addition to our family. You complete us in ways we never thought possible. I love your personality, your zest for life, and your ability to make anyone smile. You are my sunshine... thank you for making my life brighter. I love you little man. Happiest of Birthdays to you!

Love,
Momma

(and for those of you readers who like the stats and fun stuff of what he's up to, don't worry. I'll post that on Monday after his well check).
