2 Weeks Old

We are doing well here adjusting to life as a family of 4. Of course, it's a bit of a delusional state since my mom has been here to help with the kids and stuff around the house. To say that she has been a huge help would be an understatement. I am kind of in panic mode thinking about how I am going to juggle everything once she leaves on Saturday. I have a feeling I will need to be blaring Arethra Franklin's "I Will Survive" song through my speakers next week as both kids are bound to be screaming at the same time. Ofcourse, at that point I might just throw my hands up and say "what the hell" and scream with them. Never hurts to join in the fun, right? haha.

On a more serious note, I feel as though I should point out that Connor Man is 2 weeks old today. In some respects I feel like he's always been a part of our family; it's hard to imagine life without him, although I do miss the sleep for sure! Connor had his two week checkup a few days early on Wednesday. He did great, and was super laid back. He is battling a clogged tear duct which has turned into a slight eye infection. He also has had a terrible diaper rash/yeast infection, so had to get treated for that as well. The poor guy can't catch a break just half a month into his precious life! The good news on the homefront is that he's growing well; he weighed 8.5 pounds, which was up almost a pound from last week! He's also almost 21 inches long. Overall he's pretty much in the 50th percentile, so I am wondering if he'll be a bit smaller than Brayden; Brayden shot up to the 90th percentile pretty fast, and has remained steady in the 50-75th percentile on everything for quite sometime (Brayden is 50th for weight and 75th for height, so he is long and lean). Time will tell. But as Drew has stated, and I agree, Connor has no choice but to be tough. His big brother LOVES, LOVES, LOVES him and gives him all kinds of attention. Unfortunately 19 month olds don't really understand the definition of gentle, and so generally Connor gets knucks on the head, "kisses" all over, and completely thrown from Brayden's lap when he's had enough holding him. I definitely can't turn my back for even a second :o/

I'm hoping to blog more about all of the thoughts that are running through my head, I just haven't found much time to get them down. Perhaps next week will be better (I have a feeling that I'll be saying that a lot now!)... until then...
