Weekend in Review

Well, our weekend had big plans to go to the pool, different festivals around the area, and have fun in the sun as a fam. That was quickly haulted on Friday morning when I realized that the rash that was around Brayden's mouth had spread to his hands and feet. I suspected Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease, and upon calling our nurse hotline with our health insurance, my fears were confirmed. It sounds a lot worse than it is; basically it's a virus that most children get. They generally run a fever, then break out in rash like blisters on their hands, mouth and feet. It's extremely contagious to other children, so we have to stay inside for 10 days. Bummer.

Saturday we did venture out to Sam's Club as a family, and just made sure that B was contained in the cart (we use a shopping cart cover, so he never touched the buggy). While we were there the CEO of Walmart was also there. Drew was completely star struck, but never got the courage to go up and talk to him. We ate our traditional pizza meal (Brayden wouldn't touch his, which I can only assume was because of the HFM sores), and went back home.

Saturday evening I had the opportunity to take some pictures of a friend of mine's kids. They are adorable, but like any child photoshoot, are extremely unpredictable. Jonah really wanted nothing to do with smiling or posing, and Sophie was more entertained with the mulch that was everywhere, and thought it looked rather yummy. Here a few of my favorites from the photo shoot... are these kids not beautiful?!!!!

Today we've stayed inside due to the heat and not being able to do anything with B's illness (and he feels fine that we can tell, other than fussing a little bit because of the rash on his feet). I am dreading this week since we really won't be able to go out and do anything. We'll definitely be heading to the pool on Saturday when we're in the free and clear! Hope everyone has a great week!
