I am almost ashamed to say that I just made my first batch of homemade banana nut bread last week. It was easy, and delicious, and it was met by lots of lip smacking from both of my boys. So when I decided to make my second loaf, I thought I would share the recipe with my readers, P-Dub style.
You'll need these ingredients:
1.5 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (room temp works best)
2 eggs
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1.5 c. flour (I use 1 c. whole wheat flour and 1/2 c. all purpose flour)
3 large bananas, mashed
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (I use walnuts)
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 c. butter (room temp works best)
2 eggs
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1.5 c. flour (I use 1 c. whole wheat flour and 1/2 c. all purpose flour)
3 large bananas, mashed
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (I use walnuts)
1 t. vanilla extract
Blend together sugar, eggs and butter:
Sift together the dry ingredients:
Add the dry ingredients to the sugar, eggs and butter:
Mix together the bananas, chopped nuts and vanilla extract:
(like the cutting board? Drew made it when he was deployed in Kuwait!)
Then add the bananas, chopped nuts and vanilla extract to the rest of the ingredients:
Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan:
Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 1 hour:
Enjoy!
