5QF

I wish I could say that today, Friday, marked the end of all of the hustle and bustle in our household. But a look at the calendar during dinner last night confirmed that this family is not stopping until baby #2 arrives. We literally have 3 Saturdays where we don't have something planned... 3... before November. I've told Drew that November weekends will officially be family weekends because I don't want to have guests up or us visiting someone and then all of the sudden add a baby to Brayden's life. I want to have some special time with just the 3 of us-- because, afterall, it's the last time it will just be the 3 of us FOREVER.

I am exhausted from this week, which was spent trying to catch up on errands, grocery shop and fend off the blistering hot temperatures. Today will be a bit cooler (and I say that relatively, because it really means our temps will be back to our average of 90!), so I am trying to muster up the courage to bring B to the pool by myself. While I sit here trying to do just that, I thought I'd contribute my answers to this week's 5QF with Momma M. Enjoy!

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?
I think I am a neat sleeper... I guess anyway. Drew likes to pull out ALL of the covers, while I like them neatly (and tightly) tucked in. I don't move much, and tend to stick to my side of the bed, so yeah, I'd go with neat sleeper.
2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more ________________.
Compassionate. I am a very black and white person, and while that can be a good thing in certain situations, it also causes me to have little compassion for situations and people. I wish there was a middle ground I could find where I would have compassion but not lose my black and white mindset.
3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
How hard marriage and parenting truly is. Not that my mom hasn't been honest with me, because she's about the most honest person you'll meet. But I think that SO many people put rose colored glasses on and say that everything is so dreamy when you're married or when you have kids, and that's just not the way it is (at least in my life). I LOVE my husband, and I LOVE my son, but that doesn't mean there are days where I question the sanity in all of it. I just wish more people were honest about life in general. That'd be great.
4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?
I am a sucker for consignment sales. And an addict to craigslist. Our CR-V was a pretty awesome find, but I am not sure it's the GREATEST deal I got on there. Probably the play gym I got for Brayden at Christmas time was the best used deal I've found. Literally these gyms retail for $400+ and I got it for $50. The people just needed to get rid of it, and I was the first person to contact them. Since that time the cheapest I've seen the exact playset for sale on craigslist for is $125.
5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?
Olive Garden sounds good... mounds and mounds of Olive Garden salad. And while I'm dreaming, I'll throw in a bottle of wine, since I am DYING for wine right now. I've already made Drew promise me that for our anniversary in December we'll get a sitter for BOTH boys, and go out for drinks. He happily obliged!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Stay cool (both literally and figuratively speaking ofcourse!)
